Gillian is known around here as The Task Master (aka Project Manager). She earned a degree in Theatre Arts from Penn State. Then worked as a Prop Master and Production Designer in theatre, film, and TV from coast to coast. During her decades of freelance work, she accumulated many useful and unusual skills.
During her 3 seasons on Homeland, she learned how to make suicide vests and create “conspiracy walls.” Working on Magic Mike XXL taught her how to “make it rain,” among other things that she’s not allowed to talk about. She had to figure out how to make edible roses while at The Actor’s Theatre of Louisville. She also had to design and build a steam room inside an ice rink in 2 days for a Gillette Razors commercial. With 24 episodes of The Walking Dead under her belt, she could be a first-round pick for your Apocalypse team. But with all of the strange Google searches she has done while researching props, she’s quite certain she must be on a watch list somewhere!
Although this may all seem glamorous, Gillian decided on a career move that involves less travel and fewer obnoxious hours. That is how she ended up becoming a part of our merry band of artisans. If you reach out to TVSetDesigns by phone or email, your first contact will likely be with Gillian. She enjoys guiding clients through our process and helping them make their plans a reality.
She says she loves her new life, but occasionally you can catch her daydreaming about endless Cappuccinos from craft service.
